Lotta Lovin has become the queen of 3-year-old fillies at Turfway Park, with three straight stakes wins at the northern Kentucky track this winter. The latest victory for the daughter of Repent came Feb. 25 in the one mile, $50,000 Valdale S. The bay filly scored by 3 1/2-lengths in her first start around two turns with a powerful surge from fourth in the final quarter mile to win going away.

Lotta Lovin's previous wins were in the Jan. 21 Cincinnati Trophy S. and Dec. 26 in the Gowell S., both also worth $50,000. Lotta Lovin is the leading earner this year for her sire, who is in the top 5 on Florida's General Sire list.

"She's won three in a row there now and each one more impressively than the last, so it (the Grade 3  Bourbonette Oaks on March 24 at Turfway) looks like a wise move," winning trainer Mike Maker said.

"She's a speed horse and there was a lot of speed in the race," said winning rider Victor Lebron. "I thought, 'Let's relax, I don't want to get in a speed duel.' I wanted to wait as much as I could because I had a lot of horse and I saw everybody was doing premature moves trying to get the jump on me. So I waited, waited, waited, tugged her out slowly, and then when she saw daylight she just took off. I could have gotten the lead at any time in the race."

Owned by William Butler, Lotta Lovin now has five wins in ten starts and earnings of $135,683. She was bred in Pennsylvania by Horses of Course Inc. and is out of Passionate Terri, who has also produced the four-time stakes winner Passionate Bird.
